The City of Decatur is located 5 or 6 miles east of downtown Atlanta and is a great destination for shops, restaurants, galleries, local farmer’s markets, festivals, and night life. This picturesque southern town has a lot to to offer. There is a Marta rail stop in the heart of Decatur and you come up right behind the County Courthouse. The old courthouse building now houses the DeKalb History Center. Decatur is actually older than Atlanta and has the traditional southern town square. It’s a blend of historic and new construction and has many great restaurants on the square.
So what is there to do in Decatur? Well you could start with the Decatur Ghost Tour. Or if that’s not for you you may like one of the six Decatur Walking Tours.
